I'm Athul.
A student figuring out where technology can take me.
I'm currently pursuing my MCA and exploring data analysisPythonSQLandmachine learning by building projects and learning through practice.
I don't have years of industry experience yet — and I'm okay with that.
I'm looking for an opportunity where I can learn from experienced people, work on real problems, and build a strong career in technology.
Still learning. Still building. Looking for the right place to start.
I'm Athul Krishna, currently pursuing my Master of Computer Applications (MCA) at Adi Shankara Institute of Engineering & Technology.
My interest in technology started with building software, but over time I became more interested in what happens behind the data — how information can be cleaned, explored, understood, and used to make better decisions.
That led me toward Python, SQL, data analysis, and machine learning.
Most of what I know has come from a combination of coursework, online learning, experimenting with datasets, and building projects. Some projects worked well, some didn't, and quite a few taught me more from debugging them than from writing them.

What I'm working on
Currently strengthening my fundamentals across five pillars:
Python
Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib and data processing
SQL
Querying, joins, aggregation and database fundamentals
Data Analysis
Cleaning, exploration and finding useful patterns
Machine Learning
Understanding the basics and applying them to projects
Power BI & Excel
Creating dashboards and presenting findings
Dataset & Project Experience
I've worked on projects involving datasets such as Airbnb listings, Walmart sales, Spotify data, Formula 1 results, and student-related datasets, along with software projects such as InterfaceGuard, an academic project focused on analysing software architecture and code quality.
What I'm looking for
I'm at the beginning of my professional career, so I'm not looking for a role where I already need to know everything.
I'm looking for a place where I can:
I'm particularly interested in starting my career in:
Outside the projects
I enjoy experimenting with new technologies, improving the things I build, and occasionally spending far too much time trying to make a simple interface look right.
I'm still figuring out exactly where my career will take me. For now, I'm focused on building a strong foundation and finding the right opportunity to take the next step.

Featured Analytics Work

Airbnb Listings Dashboard
Price Variance Analysis
Spent an embarrassing amount of time cleaning data before a single chart appeared. Power BI dashboard on how prices shift by location and room type. Lesson: cleaning is 80% of the job.

Employee Data Analysis
HR Dataset Exploration
SQL on an HR dataset - headcounts, salary trends, tenure. The one where joins finally clicked. I'd been faking confidence with them before this.

Data Cleaning Practice
Real-World Messy Data
Found a genuinely horrible dataset - wrong formats, missing values, columns named "column1". Cleaned it. Unglamorous, but this is real data work.

Sales Report Dashboard
DAX Measures & Trends
Retail sample data, first real DAX measures. Month-on-month growth, running totals. DAX is weird. I like it now.

E-Commerce EDA
Exploratory Analysis
Online retail dataset, just explored it. First proper EDA where I had no idea what I'd find - which is the point, apparently.

Doctor Appointment App
Full-Stack Web App
BSc final year. The only non-data thing here. Taught me how real apps are structured. Also, six cases looks better than five.
Academic Milestones & Leadership Evolution
A chronological progression bridging university academics, departmental leadership, and continuous telemetry across real-world data disciplines.
Topology & Models
Relational schema design
Query Telemetry
SQL index & execution scan
Time-Series Dynamics
DAX trend velocity metrics
Anomaly Recon
Outlier detection in distributions

Leadership & Governance
President
Aitreya — MCA Students' Association
Leading the student body and organising the department's technical and cultural events for the year, including the upcoming Techfest.
Student Representative (MCA)
MCA Department Council
Representing the MCA department at the university level on academic, curriculum, and examination matters.
